This painting day hadn't gone as planned at all. Right off the bat I locked my keys in the car. Instead of a scenic hike out to find the perfect subject, I was stuck staying in view of the parking lot while waiting for the locksmith.

Not wanting to lose all of the painting time, I scanned the little patch of woods within reach and found these perfect little blooms.

"Little Lavender Flowers," plein air, 8 x 10 oil on hardboard, #7889
