Being a goofball that plays with paint has its advantages. No one questions my sanity. They know I'm not right! 😆

Well, you ARE a painting machine! wacka-wacka!

I used to try to stay organized. But, now I'm pretty haphazard. I don't really clean my brushes until I'm finished and my paints are all laid out close. In fact, when I'm done it pretty much just looks like one big blob on my palette. After watching the Alexander, "Yellow, Red and Blue will do" videos and his thoughts on harmony with the paint, I've just kind of winged it. So, I have colors on the edge and the big blob in the middle. All of that is a convoluted way to say I'm unorganized! And it probably shows in my work! 😜

Better delete that post. People will start to question not only your taste, but your sanity! :)

It's always a good feeling when you do your parents proud. My Mom is my biggest fan as well when it comes to painting. Heck I think she's my ONLY fan! :) Good work!

Really good video. White paint above the dark paint on the highlights is not something you hear about when people teach mountains. Putting the shadow color "into" the highlight is also something that is often glossed over.

This is fantastic! Now you are a pro! This is very impressive work. Painting animals is not easy. And you nailed it.

Yeah, I know! You showed me one day and I bought a tube. I think it was $26 for a tiny tube. But, it's really cool looking on canvas.

I think this is a great introduction type painting, and I suspect it will do well. I know that you heard the same things I did at the acrylic painting class I attended. People want to paint oils, but have a fear of them being difficult. Other than the snow on the mountain, this is a nice and easy introduction.

I may have to look into that one. I have a Windsor and Newton mop which is in my pic in the brush holder. I like the softness of it, but it sheds bristles non stop. I've tried make up brushes, which work well, but don't clean up at all. They are basically one-time use. I'm eagerly waiting to see what you think of the Bob Ross version. the other blending brush they offer, I'm not fond of.

Well, you could create the story for the painting that it was a stormy, stormy night and raining like hell...LOL. Love everything about this, other than the streaks, which I'm sure you aren't happy with either! What do you use as a blending brush? I've tried a lot of brushes, and sometimes that is something that I feel I lack at times.

Now that is a reply! Aren't you teaching a class right now? I'm getting similar brush strokes to your painting below. But mine is a bright color, so they aren't showing as much. Those brush holders come from Dollar Tree of all places. A buck and a quarter, and they do the job. Generally they are full, but since I packed up last week for your studio, it has the two brushes I was using and the left overs. As you know I bought that easel for sentimental reasons initially. But, it's been a fantastic purchase, and I think it has helped motivate me to paint, and made me a slightly better painter. Back to brush strokes. I like them in a final painting when they have meaning and express interest and movement. Like all of Karen's oil paintings I've seen, and your fiery sky painting. These just aren't those. I had one of those linen panels from you, but it is either hiding in my truck, or I lost it somewhere. I don't know if boards, canvas, or a wood plank is what I prefer at this point. I'm just trying a lot of new things with an open mind. It's a new experience for me to enjoy slapping paint on and liking the results. Or at least not thinking everything I create is awful. I've had a blast doing a lot of weird things the past couple of weeks. And nothing Bob Ross like either, which is a shocking development.
